The country’s top judokas like Commonwealth Games silver medalist Tulika Maan and the first Indian to win a gold medal at the World Cadet Judo Championship, Linthoi Chanambam will come together for the 1st Khelo Women’s National Judo League India which will be held from October 20 to 23. .
The league, which is a national ranking tournament for female judokas from four zones, is organized at IG Stadium here by the Indian Judo Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The tournament was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which sanctioned an amount of Rs 1.74 crore for its organization and to encourage the development of judo at the local level. The total prize money for the tournament across 31 weight classes is Rs 24.43 lakh.
The tournament is organized into four age groups – Sub Junior (12-15 years old), Cadet (15-17 years old), Junior (15-20 years old) and Senior (15 years old and over). The cash prize will be awarded to the top 7 judokas across the 31 weight classes, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) announced in a statement on Monday.
A total of 496 judokas, including Tulika and Linthoi, are ready for the competition. National league competitors are selected based on their ranking and performance in their respective zones – North, South, East and West.
In addition, the seven best judokas selected during national selections and national judo tournaments will participate in the national league.
