Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games judo gold medalists inspired youngsters at a secondary school in Leamington.

The England team duo visited Campion School in Sydenham last week where they proudly showed off their medals and spoke to the pupils about their sporting backgrounds, answered questions and demonstrated some moves with them.

They also took a guided tour of the school which has just undergone a £7.7million improvement project.

The school said: “It was an invaluable experience for the growth of students and adults, which offered a real opportunity for students to experience an Olympic-level alternative sport that they do not necessarily acquire knowledge about.

“The school is so grateful for the time Emma and Jamal took to make a difference for the students, and for the special experience they brought to the students at the school.”
